30 DMT Day 4: Quantum Leaps and the QEII

Came across some more stuff today that was kinda related to what I’m doing here, except it was on the topic of Cosmic Ordering. I do have a book on the topic, but I have to admit I’ve not read it. Since I’ve not got around to reading the other one I’ve already got waiting, it can go under that one in the pile.

Today was, I think, my first major test. Also I had yet another funny story come up. But first, the checklist:

  • Manifestation course:
    • Morning routine –> Done, 55m, fitness improved again (pic at right. The 4 secs was to fire it up again long enough to take the snapshot). So, my 20m countdown has gone from 209cal, 5.7k only 4 days ago, to almost an extra km.
    • Daily Awakening exercise –> Nope. This is seeming like overkill too.
    • Daily Email exercise –> Very hard to stay mindful to do these things, since they don’t tend to slip into ‘real life’ very easily. Trying, but didn’t manage today. Did get lots more meditation though. Forgot I’d set the mp3 to ‘loop single track’ Might print up a 1 pg summary of what I need to do for tomorrow on these 2 things and sit it on my desk.
    • 5mins of handbook –> Finally finished Chapter 1 on p27! Am determined to try for 5pages per day from here on in, regardless of how long it takes. Another 3 exercises – they’re coming thick and fast…
    • Daily 15m ‘goals’ walk –> YAAAAYYYY!!! Finally I did it. Admittedly, I was walking down the road to get lunch, but that’s not the point…
  • Watch $5k per day Subliminal Video at least once daily, preferably twice –> Twice, except I realised I’m supposed to be watching it 20m a day. That’s 7 times.
  • Work on my Mind Movie and BWE track in week 1. –> Bit more on mind movie.
  • Play Mind Movie, once or twice daily, once completed –> Not yet. By Sunday I hope.
  • Spend at least 1hr/day on my PC at home, to allow Motivator & Subliminal-Power software some time to work on me. –> Done and then some.
  • Blog update in evening –> Don’t need to answer that, do I?
  • BWE track before sleep –> Worked well last night. Obviously no point in blogging what I intend to do on this point, so I’ll keep reporting on the previous night’s results for it.

The level of relaxation is still good, and I loved being in a calm state of mind when I got the call about the reversal of their decision at work (see below). Came in handy too, but I won’t go there. Mind’s ticking over a bit faster again – doing one of the exercises and writing down the things I’d learnt that held me back I noticed a theme along the lines of “slow and steady wins the race” and “if you go too far too fast you’re setting yourself up for a fall”. It’s funny, because my life tends to reflect the opposite and fits in better with quantum theory – ie. it’s easier to make a single leap than a series of incremental steps. When I’ve jumped income levels it’s usually been at least 150% and often closer to double my previous, for example, although I used to do some deliberate exercises to build my self worth up for the purpose. Jobhunting in the past I’d chug along for months and then suddenly get five offers. Doesn’t really fit with ‘slow and steady’ does it?

PS I’d love your comments if you’ve had similar ‘quantum leaps’ in your life… Maybe I should put a forum up?

So, now to my first major test. I’ve been expecting it, because when you try to create something in your life it seems almost an immutable law that you’ll at some stage have to prove how badly you want it – that’s the point a lot of people give up on, I understand. Anyway, having spent a bit of time yesterday carefully crafting a proposal letter to the guy I most want to work with on option 1, (my inspired action for the day – although I hadn’t sent it yet because I intended further edits and refinements) this morning my union met with a senior official at work and raised my situation. Within 2 hours, I had a phone call that told me I’d now been appointed to the position that had knocked me back (in quite some detail) at the start of the month. Means that the pressure to find an alternative job is off, but here’s the thing: this option didn’t even rank on my list. It was written off because they made it very, very clear they didn’t want me. So, now that they’ve suddenly changed their minds, do I take the safe option and let things slide back to how they were going before, or do I keep on pushing for my dreams and goals?

I’ll actually be starting up there before this trial is finished, in about 2 weeks time, so it’ll be interesting to see how warmly I’m actually welcomed. But I committed to 30 days, and I intend to follow through the 30 days, to see what I manage to create.

Now for the funny story. A few years back, there was a big story on TV about a guy who used an online swap site to go from a red paper clip to a house. I had a look at it back then, and when it came time to enter what my ideal swap outcome would be, I thought of my long term dream to take a cruise. Then I thought “why not” and went no holds barred, posting that I wanted to cruise on the QE2. Nothing ever came of it, but today my partner picked up tickets for an evening cruise on the harbour in late Feb, when both the QE2 and the Queen Victoria are due in. The harbour cruise line is taking people out to watch their arrival. When he showed me the ticket, though, the receipt said (and I quote):

“Full payment for QE2 cruise”

He joked around about me arguing the point with the travel agent, but considering the cost difference from a one evening harbour tour and a QE2 sojourn he didn’t like my chances. To me, though, that’s not the point. I took it as a message that my manifesting skills are improving, and this little message from the universe tells me my forgotten dream may well be on it’s way. No idea how, but then that’s the fun part is discovering the weird and wonderful ways these things happen, right?

PS It got a bit wet this afternoon, which is why I left posting this til later. I experimented with my Christmas digital camera and took a short video of it. Check out how the sheets of rain were almost horizontal, and you can see how the hailstones got bigger as the storm went on… You can see why I didn’t fire up my computer!

30 DMT Day 3: More relaxed, thinking clearer, made the paper

With the extra time this morning, I actually got through the full morning routine. The exercise felt good, I got a little improvement on 2 days ago, up to 6.0k and 219cal. The cal count is a ‘normal’ one, being bigger I’d be burning more but I figure it’s a good enough measure to see if I’m improving or declining in fitness. Top got drenched again. Afterwards, I showered, did my meditation then sat outside on my miniscule balcony having breakfast (fruit) and water as the sky lightened. I enjoy the feeling of nature at that time of day, when people and cars aren’t all over the place and you can relax into a sense of connection.

I’m also feeling more relaxed and calm in myself, despite again going short on sleep – it’s still hot. The sensation seems to be sinking deeper and integrating internally, instead of being at the surface level which is all I’ve achieved before: at least while I’ve been in my current work situation, anyway. As a side effect, the brain cells seem to be working a bit better than they have for a while. I’ve posted another question on Linked In about how the world is changing. My “letter to the editor” not only got into the paper, but was boxed and highlighted in the middle of the page. I’ve also got 2 more thoughts/explorations I’m working on for http://3rdmillenniummindset.com, but they’re not ready to publish yet. Maybe tomorrow or the day after.

The one thing I haven’t managed to incorporate yet is a 15m “goals” walk during the day, although I did try to do a variation while I was on the bike this morning. I’m going to be kind to myself, though, since it’s only day 3. If I’m still not doing it by day 7 I’ll look at strategies.

I also got my BWE (brainwave entrainment) track done tonight, so I’ll be testing that out as I go to sleep. I based it on a download called “Deep Mind IV” which is in the free member resource area for the software I’m using, then recorded affirmations along the lines of the goals I’m shooting for. The track should start out with the pre-recorded ‘relaxation’ script in the 3rd person, then will shift into my affirmations in 1st person. It’s 40m long, so I’ll see how much I remember of it, but that particular session warns you may fall asleep rapidly. It also says you may get a side effect of reduced sleep requirements – that would be handy at the moment! I’ll fill you in tomorrow.

Checklist: (I’m still tweaking this to include & rearrange things together)

  • Manifestation course:
    • Morning routine –> Done, 1hr 10, fitness improved.
    • Daily Awakening exercise –> Worked on yesterday’s exercise.
    • Daily Email exercise –> Read it when I got home, so will do it tomorrow.
    • 5mins of handbook –> Up to p21. Between p18 and 20, two exercises took almost half an hour to complete.
    • Daily 15m ‘goals’ walk –> Not incorporated yet. Maybe now it’s listed?
  • Watch $5k per day Subliminal Video at least once daily, preferably twice –> Once
  • Work on my Mind Movie and BWE track in week 1. –> One down, one to go.
  • Play Mind Movie, once or twice daily, once completed –> Not yet
  • Meditate for 30m daily –> Same 20m one, plus exercises below & BWE pending. Between the morning routine and the BWE at night, I think this one’s covered, so will drop it from tomorrow on.
  • Spend at least 1hr/day on my PC at home, to allow Motivator & Subliminal-Power software some time to work on me. –> Done while creating my BWE track.
  • Blog update in evening –> Doing
  • BWE track before sleep –> Starting tonight!

30DMT Day 2: Reality (and a heatwave) strikes

The best laid plans of mice and men, they say… Despite the best intentions, we had extreme heat overnight and I pretty much tossed and turned until almost 4am, so when the alarm went off at quarter to 5 I wasn’t really that motivated. I did manage to drag myself up after about 20m, but unfortunately the exercise part of the morning routine just didn’t fit in before I got picked up at 6. It made a noticeable effect. I tried doing the rest and that did raise my spirits a bit, but there was a distinct difference in the power behind the images without having done it all. Luckily tomorrow I’m not getting picked up til 7, so I’ll have a better chance of fitting it all in.

  • Morning routine from my Manifestation course –> Mostly Done, no exercise, 40m
  • Watch $5k per day Subliminal Video at least once daily, preferably twice –> Twice
  • Meditate for 30m daily –> Did the 20m guided one I liked from yesterday
  • Spend at least 1hr/day on my PC at home, to allow Motivator & Subliminal-Power software some time to work on me. –> Done.
  • Work on my Mind Movie and BWE track in week 1. –> Updated Motivator entries to add some new ones & started finding pictures for my Mind Movie.
  • Play Mind Movie, once or twice daily, once completed –> Not yet
  • Manifestation course:
    • Daily Awakening exercise –> Read the Daily Awakening, but didn’t do the exercise yet. It was on mindfulness. I kept forgetting.
    • Daily Email exercise –> Daily email hasn’t arrived yet. Not in spam either.
    • 5mins of handbook –> Read a few pages of the handbook, but not much.
  • Blog update in evening –> Doing
  • BWE track before sleep –> Not yet

It’s pretty obvious that not doing the 20m exercise made a major difference in the energy levels I had for this, although the sleep deprivation probably didn’t help either. Funnily enough, even without doing exercise, every time I started working on this program today I started dripping sweat – it’s like on some level it’s kicking my system up a notch. I kept on having to stop and park myself in front of the cooling fan. It was a hot day, but this was happening even during the cooler bits of it. It’ll be interesting to see if the effect lasts.

I had one action inspiration today, another email but to someone else this time. It started out as a job request, but didn’t feel right, so I shifted mindset and asked about JV opportunities. Felt WAY better. No news back on the other, but I’ve released that into bigger hands than mine. If it’s the right thing, it’ll happen. If not, no point stressing.

30 DMT Day 1: Feels Amazing, Synchronicity’s started

This morning blew me away. The course I’m trialling has 8 things for you to do in the morning (including exercise and meditation) and by the time I got through all of it I was feeling absolutely amazing. I haven’t done exercise in a while, so my workout top got absolutely soaking wet, but I did 20m on my exercise bike and got through 5.7km. Not much, when I used to get around 7.5-8.5 in a 20m session, but hey, it’s a good start after months of slacking. I dripped my way into the bathroom after that, because I had to shower before I could sit down and meditate, or I would have been creating the lotus pond around me…

The mp3 meditation I used today was pretty good, although it was just short of the 20m I was supposed to do. I figure 18m is a good intro, and I really felt the energy buzzing through me by the end of it. Honestly, I believed I could manifest absolutely anything. Then I sat down to the computer (today being a public holiday) and discovered that the guy I emailed yesterday actually WAS interested, and even better was looking at it as a role with a bit of responsibility. Honestly, on the first day this kind of synchronicity happens? I can’t wait to see what my life is like by the end of 30!

This might be easier as a checklist.

  • Morning routine from my Manifestation course (45m – 1hr) –> Done, 1hr 20m
  • Watch $5k per day Subliminal Video at least once daily, preferably twice –> Done (once)
  • Meditate with MP3 guided meditation for 30m min –> Done, but only 20m. This is a bit of a repeat since the morning routine includes 20m of meditation, so I might combine them into one 30m session daily.
  • Spend at least 1hr/day on my computer at home, to allow Motivator & Subliminal-Power software some time to work on me (can’t install them at work). –> Done
  • Read daily entry and 5pgs of guidebook from manifestation course –> Done to p18/255
  • Blog update in evening, of course! –> Doing it now 😉
  • BWE track before sleep –> Dont have it yet, so will do guided meditation again

My mood was buzzing after my morning routine, which of course continued after I heard back about the possibility of working over the net (would be incredible, if it happens). That kind of energy isn’t too easy to sustain long term, though, so I kinda melded back into normal-ness afterwards, although I did notice I got a lot more done today than the last two days combined, and another unrelated issue I’ve been dealing with resolved itself well and truly in my favour.

I also discovered that there’s an email course component to this thing I’m doing, so I’ll be adding that in to tomorrow’s plan. The revised checklist:

  • Morning routine from my Manifestation course (45m-1hr, exclusive of meditation)
  • Watch $5k per day Subliminal Video at least once daily, preferably twice
  • Meditate for 30m daily
  • Spend at least 1hr/day on my PC at home, to allow Motivator & Subliminal-Power software some time to work on me. Work on my Mind Movie and BWE track in week 1.
  • Play Mind Movie, once or twice daily, once completed
  • Manifestation course: Daily Awakening exercise, Daily Email exercise, 5mins of handbook
  • Blog update in evening
  • BWE track before sleep

Tomorrow’s back to work, and I’m relying on public transport so I’ll be leaving an hour earlier. Means it’ll be fun getting up in time to do all this before I go, but fingers crossed being fresh into it might help. I’ll let you know tomorrow night…

30 Day Manifestation Trial: The Plan

OK, I figure I have more than enough stuff to go on already, so I dropped the idea of web searching for more tools. If anyone out there knows something really good that you think I should include, feel free to drop me a line and I’ll look at it, otherwise I’m just going to start planning.

Tomorrow’s the start. t minus 1hr 15m and counting.

Since I’ll be blogging what I’ve done, vs what I intend to do, my posts will be going up in the evening – I’ll be aiming for somewhere between 8:30 and 10:30pm Australian EST daily. Of course chaos happens, and sometimes things just get in the way, so it may not be possible every day, but if I know about it beforehand, I’ll let you know too.

The plan of action will be:

Weekly:

Daily:

  • Morning routine from my Manifestation course (45m – 1hr)
  • Watch $5k per day Subliminal Video at least once daily, preferably twice
  • Meditate with MP3 guided meditation for 30m min
  • Spend at least 1hr/day on my computer at home, to allow Motivator & Subliminal-Power software some time to work on me (can’t install them at work). In week 1 that will be the time I use to create my Mind Movie. They don’t usually take that long to make, once you find the pictures you want, but I want to make sure I have leeway for the unexpected in this trial.
  • Read daily entry and 5pgs of guidebook from manifestation course
  • Blog update in evening, of course!
  • BWE track before sleep

PS I already took one action. Got a response from an Internet Marketer I’ve been following for a while apologising for a delay in getting something to me. I decided to take a punt and shot back asking if he wanted an assistant and telling him how I could help. Who knows – the trial could be over very quickly with my number 3 outcome if he likes the idea!

PPS The Durian Icecream was a success – had some today with raspberries and blueberries in the afternoon. My other half wasn’t so keen, though. I guess there’s no getting around the fact that I’m the adventurous one in the relationship. It was lucky I’d read somewhere about home-made icecream a few years back, because I knew that I had to break the crystals down as they formed for the first few hours (pulled it out at 2 hrs and blended it, then again at 4, with a fork that time) so it would be nice and fine when it finished freezing. Mmmm. It was.

30 Day Manifestation Trial: Tools

Todays is going to be a short post, since it was Australia Day, a public holiday, my son’s birthday, and the main chance I had this weekend to spend time with my significant other. So, I haven’t started exploring online yet. The tools I’ve identified that I already have, though, are:

Software/PC Stuff:
Motivator (free). I love this one. It sits in the system tray and pops up a message at intervals. I currently have it saying things like “Smile” and “Take 3 deep breaths” (de-stress type stuff) but it can be modified really easily. I’ll do that for Monday’s start.
Mind Movies: this is a visual affirmation tool that’s amazingly powerful, since you put the images and music that mean the most to you together to make it. Some of the ones I’ve made are up on you tube under my id CrystalFromOz. I’ll use the first week to compile one specifically for this, then post that up as well.
Subliminal-Power: This one flashes up text on the screen that you barely see while you have the program running – it can start on startup, and you can set the messages. It comes with a heap pre-loaded, but being the perfectionist I am, I like to set my own. (PS, there’s a $10-off voucher at the author’s newsletter site here)
$5k per day Subliminal Video: I could have put something similar together with Mind Movies, but this one was ready to go, so I thought I’d give it a try.
MP3 Meditations: I have a few of these, from a few different sources, but meditation seems to be a key part of most of the stuff I’ve read on manifestation, so I’m going to work my way through them until I find one that works best for me, then I’ll post the details.
Brainwave Entrainment Software: I got this a while ago when I was researching the topic. It seems to be more useful for reaching certain states of mind than for manifesting, but could be a good add-on. I might burn a track to listen to for this, just for completeness.

Educational:
The Secret: No brainer for this one. I also have “What the Bleep do we know” but since the secret tends to be more practical I think I’ll focus on watching that one for now. At least once a week.
The Success Principles: by Jack Canfield. I’ve got this book and a friend has told me it has some great stuff on the principles of directed creation in it, so I’ll read this and keep you informed as I go through.

There is one other “Manifestation” course I’ve managed to get hold of pre-release for this trial, but since it’s not going live until end Jan I can’t give you the link for that yet. Sorry. I will as soon as I can.

30 Day Manifestation Trial: Brainstorming

It’s always easier to define what you don’t want than what you do, so I’ll start there.

Bearing in mind that it’s best to be careful what you ask for – I’ve had some very funny experiences in the past to prove it – I’m not going to just say that I want out of my current job, or I could very well end up collecting unemployment. Hmm. Thinking… It’s handy to be able to edit this, so having done so I’ll jump straight to the conclusion:

What I do want is to be able to support myself in my current style or better, through a means other than my current job.

Now for the fun stuff. This is where I’ll benchmark how well this trial works, by putting down a scale of options in preferential order so you can see exactly how far up the scale I managed to get.

  1. My top solution would be to be hired on, or retained as a consultant for at least 6 months, by one of the top name Internet Marketers: someone like Rich Schefren, Mark Joyner, Joshua Shafran or the like. It would be a dream come true to work with a solid Internet Business on creating a best practise model for Internet Business Intelligence, designing the tools and products to streamline and automate the process, writing the manuals, etc etc. Even just MS Excel can be made to jump through some serious hoops if you work on the backend of it with VBA, and I do love working in Intel. For an opportunity like that, I’d definitely consider relocation.
  2. Number 2 solution would be to earn enough money online that I could match my current lifestyle working from home. Ideally this would all be passive and recurring.
  3. If not, then earning consultancy fees or some other income online that matched or exceeded my current earnings would allow me the freedom to take my time building up the passive side in any case. I could do research work, intelligence systems development, writing, or training. I also love business process re-engineering and change management stuff.
  4. If I can’t be self-employed yet, then my next favoured option would be to work for someone local and stay near my family, so I have the support at hand to keep working towards online self-employment. I’ve got quite a lot of skills from my time paying my way through University – just about everything from Sales (kept getting top figures, got promoted into complaint handling where I reduced their attrition rate to a record low) through project management (that was fun) and customer service. Being the way I am, if I sign on to someone’s books, they’ll get 110% of my loyalty and efforts on their behalf, while-ever I’m there, so they can rest assured I’ll make sure it’s a win/win deal for both of us. It’s not unknown for me to call up previous employers when I find something that matches their interest and speciality to let them know.
  5. I could get a job and work remotely. I’m good at technology, and self-motivated to deliver, so I don’t take much management. With the internet as it is, there’s a lot of work I could do as a remote employee working from my home office. If it was close enough, this could be a dual arrangement with some days working remote and some days travelling to a central office, but while I love working with people and in a team, I’m just as comfortable working independently and collaborating through technology. I had a life coach nearly ten years ago now who lived in Boston, and I helped set her up for online communication. My family are spread worldwide and I use the net to keep in touch. I am a long time resident of the cyber world, and perfectly at home in it.
  6. Probably my least favoured option would be to have to start travelling to Sydney again, although for a short term stint or a really good job I’d consider it (especially if I could combine it with telecommuting for part of the week). I’ve done it before, spent years travelling up to University even, but now I’m at the stage in my life where my time is so full I value every moment of it. Commuting even an hour and a half each way takes such a huge chunk out of your life, and unfortunately most places in Sydney are even further than that. I’ve tried using the time but studying at 5.30am when everyone around you is snoring and you’re feeling sleep deprived ain’t the easiest thing…

So, they’re my top options, in order of preference. Tomorrow and over the weekend I’ll get together my list of tools and resources and formulate the plan. It’s looking like I’ll be able to start this on Monday. Yaay! Getting excited!!!

30 Day Manifestation Trial, or, Intelligence Analyst for Hire

This is the second time I’ve been caught up in a 30 day trial run over at Steve Pavlina. He’s currently testing out the raw food diet, which is fascinating to read – almost the internet equivalent of reality tv. So, having previously applied to Biggest Loser and Next Internet Millionaire (unsuccessfully, I might add), I figure I might just delve a bit into my interests here and run my own.

Recently, I’ve been getting more and more information on manifestation. If you haven’t heard of “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne, drop me the address of your rock and I’ll mail you back the details. That was pretty much what made it all go mainstream (although I did enjoy watching “What the Bleep do we Know” the year before). In short, it’s something I’ve been following with interest for a while, only now I’m discovering that sites and tools for it seem to have the same propagation rates as rabbits.

So, I’m going to put it to the test. For 30 days, I’m going to apply the principles of Manifestation to my most pressing issue, which is finding an alternative way to support myself (and pay the mortgage) to my current job as an Intelligence Analyst. Don’t get me wrong, I love my job, and I’m pretty darn good at it from all accounts – got an award, even – but due to circumstances I won’t go into here I’m out there in the job market again. I figure, it’s a good juicy problem to test out the reality-influencing ability of all these tools and stuff.

I should make it clear, though, that by Manifestation, I do NOT mean that I’ll spend all of the 30 days thinking hard about what I want and doing nothing. I wholly believe that one of the critical parts of manifesting anything is taking action. I can’t remember where I read it, but it was once explained to me this way:

Imagine a person who has been in the desert for days, no food or water, and is parched and dehydrated. His focus and desire is bent on water, to the exclusion of all else, but there is nothing in sight. Then serendipity comes in, and a breeze comes up which blows off his hat. He turns to chase it, and in taking that action (which outside, seemingly unrelated causes have prompted him to do) he notices a well in the direction he’s now facing. So, the final step is of course to head straight for it and drink.

Without taking that final action, or, for that matter, acting on the promptings of circumstance in chasing his hat, the process of manifestation would not have come to fruition. So, bottom line, I’m not going to be sitting on a cushion for 30 days, and no doubt there’ll be many sceptics afterwards who attribute any results (if I get them) purely to my actions instead of the manifestation process. That’s ok. That’s their beliefs, and they are welcome to them. You’re perfectly welcome to draw your own conclusions from anything I post, according to your own beliefs and experience. It would be strange if you didn’t, so I’m cool with that. Personally, I prefer to consider things holistically.

With only 30 days, I plan on going the shotgun approach. That means that I’ll be using EVERYTHING I can, simultaneously. This is not going to be a test of any one tool, but the whole approach. Not very scientific, I know, but I kinda want results quicker than a one-by-one test would give me. I may check what’s not working effectively by dropping things off if I think they’re not contributing and seeing what changes, but aside from that, the intent is just to test out how well the principle works in real life, what obstacles come up, and what the results are. I may not post every day, but I’ll aim for at least 5 days a week, unless it gets boring and there’s nothing new to post for days on end, but I don’t think that’ll happen. My suspicion is that manifesting is a skill like any other – which means it can not only be learnt, but improves with practise. So, who knows, this may become a yearly event.

Before I start, I intend to do some serious brainstorming and journalling (which I’ll post here, of course) about exactly what my options are, what my preferences are, and what my focus is going to be. Then I’ll run through all the tools I already have, and search for any other categories I might have missed. I’ll plan out a rough draft of what and when I’ll use each of them, and then launch the trial and start posting.

So, see you tomorrow.
