There’s something in the air, right now, it seems. Just as the focus has shifted to using LOA to bring in the finances, I’m getting what Steve Pavlina calls “beta reflections” with all kinds of interesting tips and tidbits directed purely along those lines. In fact, after my little luck jaunt last week (or was it the week before) where I found all those coins in the street, it seems like there’s been some kind of quantum jump and I got out of the car the other day to find a coin of the gold variety! $2 may not sound like much, but it’s as far up the scale you can get before you shift to notes. I’m thinking that’s a GOOD sign. If I start finding notes lying around, I’ll let you know…
Meanwhile, the tips I’m most getting pushed to follow are to start thinking of myself earning two or three times as much as I’m getting now. That one’s not an issue, I’ve done that repeatedly before and it’s worked every time. Could be interesting to see how much faster it works (6 months is the record) with the other foundations in place first. I’m going to set up a ‘wealth fountain’ just like Steve has (another post I stumbled on, just as I was thinking of opening and setting up the feng shui fountain I got from my Mum). Finally, while I’ve had a treasure chest in my room for a while, it’s been hidden. I keep seeing bigger and bigger tip jars and other glass receptacles everywhere I go and I think the message is that I need to have that kind of symbol of wealth out on display, not hidden in fear of losing it (definitely not something I want to affirm, although I didn’t think of it that way until I started considering putting it out and the fears came up).
I finally got hold of Tim Ferriss’ book “The Four Hour Workweek” and oh boy was that a fun read. It took four days, but the implementation is going to take a bit longer. In the very first chapter there was a heading “Ask for forgiveness, not permission” and it just clicked – that’s the approach I need to take to finally shift away from the victim mentality left over from the workplace bullying I dealt with over the last few years. I’m bearing it in mind, and the difference in how powerful and self-directing I feel is incredible!
It truly is a book for the new paradigm, and the first people to jump onto riding the wave he talks about are really and truly going to be the magnates of the next millennium. If you haven’t got hold of it, please do yourself a favour and grab it – but even more importantly, read it with an open mind! If you hear yourself thinking “that wouldn’t work in my situation” or something similar, think again. The only rules with power over us are the ones we choose to accept. Even the most apparently stringent organisation (and I’ve worked in government, so I know) can be brought around to flex the rules if they have enough reason to. In fact, probably the most common complaint about government departments IS how they bend those rules that are supposed to apply to everyone. The key word to remember is “interpretation”. That, and what I said above: the only rules with power over us, are the ones we choose to accept.
But back to the topic. I’ve had a couple of inspirational ideas I’m plotting out and planning on following up, and things are getting so exciting. The dreams I put in my workbook are starting to seem more achievable, and the ways I’m getting inspired to chase them could deliver them way faster than I would have thought possible. There really are no restrictions on the possibilities once you open your mind up to them. Anything IS possible. It’s amazing, inspiring, humbling and mind-boggling all at the same time. I have to say, though, that the absolute key to achieving with LOA is definitely taking action. All the inspiration and visualisation in the world will serve you nothing if you don’t follow up on it. That’s my learning process, and the bottleneck that holds all my goals in check. Even small actions, I’m finding, can have fantastically big results – not least in shifting the inertia so you can take the next, slightly bigger action.
Once the ball starts rolling, though, I gotta say, this is one helluva ride!
Well, I’m stuck in a loop at 30 Day Challenge, but finding that LOA is working fantastically! In the last 3 days, my stats have jumped from 49 visitors to the alternativevehiclesreport.net site (I set it up 20 days ago), to 73 visitors in only 23 – so exciting to see people coming to check out my stuff!!!
The site may not be attracting any money yet (hey, it’s a learning experience, great fun to do anyway, and it’s working wonders for my relationship with my car mad boyfriend) but somehow it seems I am. I’ve been trying to work on allowing abundance flow to me without being fixed on how, and all of a sudden there’s money showing up literally at my feet! I’ve gone from finding the occasional 5c coin, (maybe once a year) to now finding them fairly regularly, like weekly or more often; running across a 20c coin last week; (he wasn’t impressed but I told him it was a BIG improvement on finding 5c, 400% better in fact. He gave up arguing with me) to discovering I got an extra dollar back in change, and this afternoon I came across a literal shower of coins someone had dropped and somehow nobody else had noticed, even though it was on one of the major streets of our town. Ended up being 40c, but finding 5 coins, some of them double what I used to, is definitely a sign I’m getting better. Oh, and before you ask, there was nobody in sight so there was no way I could have found the dropper anyway. I had an unexpected windfall last week that cleared in the bank this week, just in time for all the rates and everything, mortgage rates have dropped and are set to drop a few more times before the end of the year, they say, and all of a sudden it seems like the trickle is starting to punch a hole through that dam!
Oh, and on the seats thing – I did it again today. Even more amazing, I got a seat EXACTLY where I pictured it, all to myself, in the very last carriage. That’s usually the one that fills up most, with people who are running late jumping on to it last minute at every station. I could hardly believe it when I saw, but I thoroughly enjoyed it all the way home! LOA is SO COOL!!!!
I’m getting better at using this Law of Attraction stuff!
The last two days, now, I’ve had circumstances keep me at work past the time when trains home start getting packed (what I call the ‘sardine runs’) and usually that means I’ll be standing – at least half of the way, to the next station. On the way down to the station, though, I’ve started picturing myself getting a seat. The first time, I wanted a two-seater near the window so I could use my laptop and do some more of the 30 day challenge stuff – watch the videos, at least, since I don’t have a mobile internet connection. I had a feeling where to stand, and as I got on the train, headed upstairs. Right there in front of me as I got to the top was an empty two seater, in a crowded carriage no less, so I got my spot next to the window.
Yesterday, I was REALLY late. I’m talking peak hour, when it’s incredibly lucky just to get a seat at all. I was going to visualise getting myself a seat, when I had the thought to picture myself in a single seat. These things, which are just at the stairs and only a few per carriage, usually fill before the train leaves Central. Get on anywhere after that, and you’ve got buckleys. When I was on crutches, I couldn’t even get people out of them (the ones in the vestibule are usually for elderly or disabled people). So I didn’t think much of my chances, but I stood where I had the feeling to, anyway. As I got in I went to head upstairs, but for some reason got the thought to head downstairs instead. I did, and it seemed like there was absolutely NOTHING. I walked through, thinking to head to the next carriage, and just at the back was a single seat, unoccupied! As I spotted it I thought for sure someone would be asleep in it, their head just out of sight against the window, but no, it was entirely empty. Someone was heading down the stairs next to it but I got there just in time to swing my bag into it and beat them. I got dirty looks from him, the guy behind me (who obviously had hopes I’d miss seeing it) and the man in outside seat of the double seat across the aisle, who must have wanted to grab it himself. But I got my single seat, and was able to do a bit more on the laptop on the way home.
This stuff ROCKS!
Oh yes, and I finally finished off the ‘playbook’ for my Outrageous Mastery course. Woo Hoo! One more thing finalised, so now I’ve got to find some music to set up my own ritual and just get going on using it on some bigger stuff. Things are coming together in such a cool way… Love this!
30 day challenge update – after spending 5 days laid up with Gastro, I fell behind on this. I’m only up to day 19, but right now I don’t care. Aside from the fact that the insights I’m getting now make me feel like I’ve finally stumbled onto the rule book and am learning how things work at last, (I’ve posted some of the deeper stuff at 3rdMillenniumMindset, you can see the RSS feed from there bottom right of this page) the lessons we’re getting now are dependent on achieving certain levels before you progress, so you really can’t do one a day, unless your luck is really brilliant. It’s a bit like a game of snakes and ladders – if your chosen area isn’t achieving at this point, you’re on a snake and have to slide back and start again. If you’re hitting the targets, you’re on a ladder. If you’re somewhere in between, you cycle through snakes and slow progress until you hit the right level and climb to the next level. This is obviously the point where I start needing to use LOA principles to achieve the targets. It dovetails so nicely, that the timing seems like it just has to have been coordinated to fit together so well. Right as I reach the point where my LOA skills are growing, and I’ve finished off the OM course basics, I get to this point in the online stuff. It’s going to be VERY interesting to watch the stats over the next week as I put it in place. What’s the target? I need to have 200 visitors to my site at http://alternativevehiclesreport.net – I’ve made it as much fun and as interesting as I can, so now I just need to hit that tipping point where people start referring their friends. That’s got to be something I can tap into LoA for.
This last week while I had hopes of catching up on the 30DC (and was getting there) I ended up coming down with a stomach bug and being laid up at home for 5 days. Even lost my weekend to it! It’s amazing how fast things seem to go backward when you’re already behind and things are moving on without you…
Anyway, I’m getting better, and finally able to get myself back up to something resembling human today, so I came back online to see how much was waiting for me.
“How to induce Panic in one easy lesson…”
Anyway, I’ve caught up 3 days of the 12 I had fallen behind, and am going to see what an intense burst of activity over the next 60m can accomplish. I’ll report back at the end. Oh, and I’m STILL having fun writing stuff up for my 30DC blog at Alternative Vehicles Report, there are some wild and crazy things out there and I’ve discovered some gems thanks to my other half’s interests in all things wheeled and engined.
I’ve also got something interesting lined up for next month, once I finish this 30DC. So much I’d love to do, so little time available. <sigh> One of these days I’d love to go part time and pursue my online dreams a bit more actively!
With a couple of slow (or not moving) days this last week, I’ve got my 30DC stuff up to Day 11 as of today.
What that means is, I’ve been plugging away at my blog, and have now got enough stuff in there to not only make it interesting, but find and comment on related stuff elsewhere. I’m also having an absolute BLAST of a time with the topic I ended up choosing. Alternative Vehicles. There are a surprising number of developments in the field, dating back to a surprisingly long time ago. My favourite, as the first vehicle that started me investigating, is the Twike, but I also like the personal UFO and the suitcase car. I’m glad I got into this challenge, even if I was thinking it would be overcommitment. Actually, it is, but it’s so much fun researching this topic I don’t care…
As for the Outrageous Mastery course, I’ve even managed to fit in a few sessions with that, and have progressed it up to Chapter 20. Getting a lot closer to the back, but this has got to be one of the longest reads I’ve EVER had. I’m usually through something that thick in a couple of days, but this ‘doing the exercises’ thing really slows you down!!! Especially when the exercises involve some serious overhauling of your life, ideas, beliefs and thought patterns. It’s really good, though – feels like I’m doing an internal spring clean, only it’s not quite spring yet. Hey, wonder if I’ll be done before it is? (It’s mid winter downunder here, although I’ve noticed the sun’s starting to get up a bit earlier again – I’m not beating it as often, even though I’m catching the same train most days.)
In short, though, I’m managing to juggle several major things at the moment, exercise included, and feeling pretty good by the time I go to bed that I’ve put a lot into the day. I have no idea what the end outcome will be, but it does feel a lot like I’m concreting in some fantastic new habits, and building an entirely new self for my life. No, that’s not backwards.
Still going through and trying to get 2 done a day, catching up fast since it’s up to day 8. With a very early start on Tuesday I don’t know how I’ll go with doing both of the ones I downloaded for tomorrow (I’ll be in bed before the sun is, almost, because I’ll be up WELL before it too), but I’ll give it a good bash. I’m not 100% sure of the keywords I ended up with, but every alternative I tried ended up pointing back to it, so I’ve decided to give it my best shot anyway. At worst, I’ve lost nothing. At best, I’ll be in a really cool position to keep this blog moving forward into something amazing, cool, and really, really helpful to a lot of people!
And I’m definitely working on following the 30 Day Challenge using the law of attraction. Got my first ‘inspirational action’ impulse tonight, to contact someone I’ve been following and enlist their help. Exciting stuff!
During the time out and about with my other half today, I also picked up a sleeve for my laptop so I can haul it around a bit easier. Having done that, I’ve also done a bit of work setting it up with all the plugins etc for the challenge – not quite there but almost. The absolute basics are in so if I get a chance to have a half hour to myself before heading home tomorrow I should be able to do my Gloria Jeans wireless coffee trick to finish off, and from there on I’m going to keep going with it after work and during my commuting time. Which reminds me, I’ve been fairly remiss in not finishing off the commuting pics I took for CrystalsQuest.com, but I do have next weekend to myself so I’ll drop it into the ‘carry over’ box for then.
So, for the meantime, over and out! Probably won’t update tomorrow night, but I’ll be back the night after!
Amazingly, the stuff I’ve been learning in my LOA course over at Outrageous Mastery seems to be working miracles I never suspected. I got a comment yesterday from my offsider that he didn’t want to interrupt me when I was doing my stuff online – about a 180 degree turnaround from what used to happen but totally in line with how I’d been imagining the relationship could be in an ideal world. Today, when he got in while I was working, he actually suggested I could come back after tea. So, I got to finish off day 2. Woo hoo!
It’s also looking like the phrase I was planning on using last year for the 30 day challenge is still good. It’s certainly winning out in all the research I’ve done, even though I expected by this time to have to narrow the niche down further. Absolutely incredible! I’m going to be doing the challenge on a topic close to my heart. Not going to give away any more at this stage, but watch this space…
Who knows, I may even get through days 3 & 4 tomorrow!
OK guys, I’ve been flat out the last two days, and have FINALLY managed to get through the last of the pre-season videos and transcripts. JOY, HALLELUJAH. I even carted my old dinosaur laptop into work and back with me so I could go through as many as possible yesterday. The rest I’ve spent today working on. Bonus, I also revived the old $5k a day video I used in my last LOA trial. I’m thinking I’ll roll that out again as part of this one, and see if it works as well here.
As a really neat side effect, I’ve also learnt some Google reader tricks that have got my unread RSS stuff down from 640 unread to less than 140. Neat!
So, with the rest of today I hope to get through days 1 and 2. I’m not pushing any further than that because I know day 2 is meant to be pretty heavy, so I figure if I can do 2 days each day for the next week, I’ll be caught up again. Also, I know tomorrow my guy is going to want to spend time together, so I won’t get much chance to do more then. Hmm. Maybe I should try for day 3 tonight. Nah, he’s going to be here in 2 hours.
I’m off to hunt down some ideas…
Those exercises I’ve been struggling with for the last few weeks – I finally finished off last night. Woo HOO! What a great feeling! I’ve basically had to do some hard looking at myself, my past, and where I am today, which has left me with a whole new appreciation for the way my life’s shaped up – even the ‘negative’ experiences – and freed me from a whole lot of emotional baggage.
I’ve even been asked if I’ve lost weight at work. I haven’t. I’m just walking taller these days.
It was a hard slog, I’ve got to admit, getting through those Chapter 14 exercises, but I am very happy I’ve done them, and am looking forward to moving onwards and upwards from here.
Now, in terms of actually turning this into a 30 day experiment, I have the foundation for the routine in place. Since I’ve committed to doing this 30 day challenge with my mastermind group, that’s going to take up August, but I intend to keep working through the rest of the manual for this, and September is seriously going to be the start of my trial. I’ll post you updates as I get through the rest and find interesting things happening.
On a side note, I’m finding myself with a lot more energy, and smiling a lot more this last week or so, as I’ve wound up doing the chapter. I’m even finding my attitude to money changing. Where I’d have panicked if I wasn’t in a Powerball draw (it was $10m this week), when I got picked up from work and didn’t get to the newsagent I liked, I just let it go. I figure if it’s being organised for me, they’d have known I wouldn’t be in it, and besides – $10m is not the figure I’ve been dreaming of. This week, though, it’s up to $15. I’ll definitely be in it this time around.
I also had an interesting experience at the supermarket yesterday. I was in a queue with one lady in front of me, and she started pulling stuff from the back of her pile to get the operator to put them through first, and checking the subtotal. My initial thought was “oh no, should’ve picked another queue, this is going to take a while” but it didn’t, because after only one thing she got to her limit. Then she realised that she needed a packet mix that was still waiting, so she had him put it through too – $41.30.
I could see she was torn. She had $40 in her hand, had been through her purse and handbag, and was saying “I have some more in the car”, but was frozen in place. For some reason, I decided to step up. I opened my purse, and strangely enough, I had exactly $1.30 in change, so I told the operator, and handed it over. The look on her face was wonderful – she couldn’t believe it. She was very grateful, and thanked me. I told her not to worry, people had done that for me. I also tried to say that if she felt like it, she could pay it forward by doing it for someone else, but for some reason it came out as: “You’ve done it for others”. She looked at me a bit quizzically, and said “You know, you’re right. I have done it for people. How’s that for Karma, bringing it back to me.” After she left, the guy behind me made comments that it was really nice of me. The feelings of appreciation and approval everyone was feeding me were amazing – and all over a tiny $1.30.
The funny thing is, I’d just received notice my mortgage was going up again, and been struggling to meet it as it was. I’d been focused on budgeting all week, but in that two minutes I suddenly felt incredibly rich, and it flipped my mindset to one where I felt very grateful that I was in a good enough situation financially that I could help someone out like that.
It’s a powerful feeling, giving away the thing you’ve been most worried about getting.
I don’t know if you’ve heard of Google’s new article repository – called “Knol”.
I’ve just posted my two cents worth on the Law of Attraction over there. I’d love for you to have a read and comment on it!
