With a couple of slow (or not moving) days this last week, I’ve got my 30DC stuff up to Day 11 as of today.
What that means is, I’ve been plugging away at my blog, and have now got enough stuff in there to not only make it interesting, but find and comment on related stuff elsewhere. I’m also having an absolute BLAST of a time with the topic I ended up choosing. Alternative Vehicles. There are a surprising number of developments in the field, dating back to a surprisingly long time ago. My favourite, as the first vehicle that started me investigating, is the Twike, but I also like the personal UFO and the suitcase car. I’m glad I got into this challenge, even if I was thinking it would be overcommitment. Actually, it is, but it’s so much fun researching this topic I don’t care…
As for the Outrageous Mastery course, I’ve even managed to fit in a few sessions with that, and have progressed it up to Chapter 20. Getting a lot closer to the back, but this has got to be one of the longest reads I’ve EVER had. I’m usually through something that thick in a couple of days, but this ‘doing the exercises’ thing really slows you down!!! Especially when the exercises involve some serious overhauling of your life, ideas, beliefs and thought patterns. It’s really good, though - feels like I’m doing an internal spring clean, only it’s not quite spring yet. Hey, wonder if I’ll be done before it is? (It’s mid winter downunder here, although I’ve noticed the sun’s starting to get up a bit earlier again - I’m not beating it as often, even though I’m catching the same train most days.)
In short, though, I’m managing to juggle several major things at the moment, exercise included, and feeling pretty good by the time I go to bed that I’ve put a lot into the day. I have no idea what the end outcome will be, but it does feel a lot like I’m concreting in some fantastic new habits, and building an entirely new self for my life. No, that’s not backwards.
